Tower Hamlets Knife Crime - Awesome video clips here
London Borough of Tower Hamlets has released a noticeable T.V. spot against knife crimes.
The 50sec vid shows a man being chased and being stabbed in his neck by none other than himself! This advertisement is an attempt by the Tower Hamlets Council to spread awareness among the youth and teenagers of London. The spot created by Sonny Adorjan & Milo Campbell and directed by Kevin Thomas (both belong to agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, London) hits upon the problem of rising crime graph among disenfranchised youth. Though, the advert is racy and the idea is good enough but the execution is a bit faltering. I agree, many will find it to be a hard-hitting video but somewhere, that punch is missing which would have made the message louder.
I think, it’s not a bad attempt after all but the problem of rising crime among youth requires more than just advertisements. Nevertheless, the intent is clairvoyant: “Carry a knife and you risk being stabbed by your own blade”. Definitely a food for thought!
