‘Drive Safe. Arrive Safe.’ Is the new campaign by Road Safety Council, Govt. Of Western Australia. This is by far one of the most hard-hitting campaigns I have come across on safe driving! The prints show X-rays of those with broken neck, spine and brain stem with a belt-socket integrated into these images. The latter emphasizes the need for putting on safety belts during driving not only for the one who sits behind the steering wheel but passengers as well.
August 28th, 2008Outdoor Advertising Gets Alive With Erec-F ‘Aroused Billboards’!
Have you ever seen an outdoor so alive? Agency McCann-Erickson’s latest work for a new male potency drug brings forth an ad campaign called “Aroused Billboard”. The efforts are being pepped up to promote a new drug Erec-F, which is similar to the ‘Blue pill’ but claims to handle erectile dysfunction in males in a more potent manner. The claims however are yet-to-be vouched for and whether Erec-F will emerge as Viagra’s competitor only time will tell.
August 2nd, 2008Italian Olympic Team Performed By Freddy
(I move along the fragile border between fear and dream:Lia Parolari )
Freddy-the official sponsor-cum-supplier for Italian team heading for Beijing Olympics have come up with a brilliant advertising campaign. The print ads feature Elisa Santoni (rhythmical dancer), Simone Collio (sprinter), Lia Parolari (gymnast) and Eleonora Lo Bianco (volleyballer). The adverts are of stunning quality and are executed well. Besides the amazing visuals the adverts bear one-liners that reflect the hopes and aspirations of these people. (That part is really touching!) A sportsperson praying and hoping that he/she will give his/her life’s best performance at the forthcoming Olympics.
July 31st, 2008Alarm Clock or Torture? Seiko’s Ad Campaign
If there’s one sound I hate wholeheartedly it’s the sound of my alarm clock! For me, it’s no less than a torture. But when one looks at the print advertisements of Seiko alarm clock, there’s no doubt left to it what a torture waking up can be. Designed by BBDO Bangkok, one of the ad features a mouse trap in place of an alarm clock. Imagine if those fingers actually touch it. Ooouch!!! (Thank God, it’s not my hand!)
The second ad gives no relief either. There are hot burning coals instead of the time piece. Gosh! Seiko’s ad campaign gives a cold chill down my spine. If I imagine my alarm clock to be such things like cinders and mouse traps perhaps I will not be able to sleep properly! Anyway, the alarm clock surely ‘Wakes (you) up immediately’!
Greenpeace Germany tells you how your love and a bit of an outdoor mushy stuff can save world’s green cover- forests. It has launched a mission for all you people who love to Love and who love the diverse beauty of a forest. To encourage you is the ‘forest love spot’ – a very suggestive video which displays human passion and love- how we just loose ourselves in these wonderful lush forests. Winners will be featured in a Greenpeace video that will be shown to the EU commission. So go ahead spread love and passion…and SAVE FORESTS for our future. And before you call your sweetheart for a photo shoot have a look at the video underneath!
July 27th, 2008Canadian Filmmakers Festival Ad Campaign Rocks!
This one’s for all those who have been brought up by a regular feed of Hollywood flicks. The funny take over American Cinema by the Canadian one in this TV spot leaves me grinning hard. The advertisement is a part of a multimedia campaign that was created and launched by advertising agency GJP Advertising. Both the television and print ads make use of familiar images from Hollywood blockbusters in a manner that renders the adverts a funny disposition. I bet even Californian governor would grin if he watches this witty take on his ‘Terminator’!
Nothing can beat the combination of Oreo cookies and milk! The fact gets reinforced with this brilliant advertising campaign done by Draft FCB (New York) for Oreo. The Elevator ad campaign was installed in a shopping mall in NY City and it seems the crowd likes this sort of innovative outdoor advertising!
The poster advert on the above campaign reads, “The traditional dunk of an Oreo cookie into a glass of milk was dramatized with the use of a panoramic elevator in a shopping mall. This attention-grabbing use of new media gave us one more way to show that Oreo is milk’s favorite cookie”.

Mac Donald’s is getting just better and better in its outdoor (advertising) campaigns. The latest one is done on a maize-field in Nebraska! The idea seems to be picked up from crop circles but nevertheless, it’s a sight to see the shaped carved out to promote Mac D’s range of coffees- Lattes, Mochas and Cappuccinos! (Mmm… did I sniff caffeine?)
The giant advert is crafted-out on a 42.6 – acre field and now is eligible to replace the previous record in 2008 Guinness World Book. Apparently, it will take 45 to 90 minutes to navigate each phase of the maze and at the end of it visitors will get a courtesy coupon. Nice picnic option for a day. Isn’t it?

The arena of billboard advertising is getting interesting day by day. After, the Mac Donald’s Giant Egg comes Momen Magnum – the Bully sandwich. A pretty heavyweight champion that it is one can see the billboard crumbling under its layers laced with cheese and mayo!
Of course those who are calorie conscious and dieting for them this ad campaign is a severe teaser but love it or hate it, you simply cant ignore it of its strategic positioning across highways and streets and at busy intersections!

While driving on a highway can be fun, it can be disastrous if you are the driver and you happen to sleep on your steering wheel! Issued for public awareness and safety, agency Saatchi & Saatchi’s ad campaign for district of Rodney (New Zealand) happens to be a gentle reminder of this.
