It seems shoe polish brands of the world love to advertise in B&W only. We all have seen the Cherry Blossom’s Famous adverts featuring Charlie Chaplin (real name Charles Chaplin) and now Shinola has done almost the same thing. Bring up the past by using some vintage posters for its advertising campaign which was handled by agency H2O Group Guatemala.
The print adverts titled: Mummy, Jack The Ripper and Frankenstein remind you of the famous German Expressionist Era when great classics like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Nosferatu (movies) were made. I do like these posters for their element of horror and eerie drama.
July 24th, 2008Behavioral ties: Animals and Human Brethen of this World!

Next time somebody tells you, “Don’t behave like an animal” don’t get offended! After all, “We’re not that different!” says so, the promotional campaign of Animal Planet series of Sky. These adverts reflect what is so elemental to us humans- our behavior. The latter has similarities with antics found in the animal kingdom.
July 22nd, 2008Hey Sweetie, Don’t Forget the Milk!
This print advertisement is a part of the campaign done for Sony In-Car Audio which now comes with a Bluetooth! The other two ads are Traffic’s Insane and I’ve Escaped Work Early. All the adverts are creatively done and presented in a Hollywood flick’s poster style. The message gets reflected but what catches the eye is of course the graphics of these ads!

The Aborigines and natives of Africa and Peru have such an exotic visual radiance about them which advertisers do like to capture once in a while. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport print ads titled: African, Aborigine, Peruvian (released in July 2008) captures the essence of these folks alongwith the ads message: Make New Friends.
July 20th, 2008It can Lock Your Life Even- Masterlock Hippies Advert!
Locks are meant to be tough. But this much? Well, indeed it’s Masterlock! The print advert titled Hippies for advertiser Masterlock is done by agency FoxP2 (Cape Town, South Africa). The advert is full of wry humor with (as you can very well see) human skeletons chained to a tree with the product being advertised. The message gets accentuated with the tagline saying,” Tough Enough For Any Job.” I quite liked the way the ad is being executed. A breakaway from boring adverts about locks & their keys. July 20th, 2008Glass, Nails or Razor Blades: Abate Your Pain with Voltaren
The print advertisements of Voltaren pain relief balm seem too good to be true.
I haven’t tried the product and so can’t really vouch for its effectiveness but so far as the prints are concerned, agency Saatchi & Saatchi, Amsterdam’s work hits the target effectively! So much so, the posters titled Voltaren: Glass, Razor Blades & Nails look creative black and white artistic prints in the first place. Also nice is the ad slogan which reads” Pain relief balm soldiers through the most nefarious stuff.”
July 19th, 2008Smart Slim Poster: Fits Everywhere!
Good things come in small sizes. That’s absolutely true in case of the Smart car. The car is a two-seater and conveys innovation, functionality and joy of life! So, does its outdoor advertising campaign handled by agency Jung von Matt, Zurich.
What is it that we always fall for advertisements featuring babies? The ad campaign by pharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb for its product Dermodex Prevent also features some very cute babies. But, that’s not the only thing which makes the campaign a good one. All the print adverts seem to be carefully crafted with cute babies, good background art and neat message display. In all, they are well executed! The agency responsible for such good work is Giovanni + DraftFcb (São Paulo, Brazil).
The world of advertising and marketing involves a lot of hardwork, creativity and enterprising ideas. Analisis & Strategia’s latest print averts spell out the need for fresh ideas in a beautiful manner. The advert titled ‘Call now’ is funny but in a sense realistic because most of us know (though we hardly admit it) that the best of the ideas come to us when we ahem…are busy getting over with stuff as shown in the print!
July 18th, 2008We Are Animals – Declares Wranglers Print ads & T.V. spot

Humans are animals. So, What? But somewhere in our fast-paced modernity, we are quickly losing out our animal instincts. So to recall what it means to be an animal you must purchase a Wrangler Jeans and wear it with nothing else on your body! This isn’t my notion dear readers. This is what the aggressive ad campaign of Wrangler jeans is all about which is made exclusively for Europe. The company wants to shed its cowboy image (perhaps that isn’t helping it any further in sales& promotion!). So, now Wrangler has discovered by deep introspection that we are after all animals. (Wow…like I never knew that!)
