Media advertising for commercial as well as environmental concerns entwined into one is something that we don’t see everyday. The Sunday Times has come up with a witty television commercial (done by agency Ogilvy, Cape Town, South Africa) which narrates the link between reading habits of people in the morning , low population, less environmental footprint & saving local rabbit species! The art work is simply fantastic. Coming out as a fresh view the media house suggests that people who will subscribe to their daily will be delivered a free copy at their doorsteps. While they will be busy reading newspaper and gaining knowledge on current affairs the population of the area would be in check (cause people will not indulge in early morning sex!). Funny, but I wonder can the newspaper back this claim of theirs based on some hardcore research???
Nevermind, the rest of the story is that less population will result in less environmental strain and this might give a valuable opportunity to rabbits of the area to breed and flourish! Aah…deep concerns for nature but somebody please remind the media barons that their own newspapers come into existence after cutting trees and mashing their pulp (and I think this also contributes to the habitat loss of the rabbits!).Anyway, enjoy the advert for the agency’s sake which has done a good creative work. Getting your skin and body parts fixed often requires going under the scalpel of a plastic surgeon. Mostly we find the adverts for these doctors and such clinics either in yellow pages or we learn about them through viral marketing. But, the June 2008 published print ads for Dr. Perea are a fresh sign in this area. The advertisements are created by one of the leading agency of today - McCann Erickson (Bogota, Colombia). The two adverts released are called Ring and Lubricant. Both the ads are tastefully designed keeping in mind the doctor’s clientele.
The tag line in both says “It will change more than your body”. These words together with suggestive images of a hand and tubes speak a lot about the treatment provided at Dr. Perea’s clinic. The latter claims to get you noticed by making you more physically attractive and enhancing your sex appeal. I like the ads for their subtlety. Without being gaudily provocative, with those titillating images and tarty messages that often cross the line of decency, McCann Erickson has produced creative work that simultaneously delights your intellect and sends across a message. Other adverts in the league are Dr. Perea plastic surgeon: Bikini, Alfa Alfa and KamaSutra ads.
