Superstylish sportswear Treatment for 5th floor of NikeTown NYC

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Beijing Olympics have begun with a bang and on this occasion, Nike recently launched its new sportswear range. The latter’s launch has also been conducted in an interesting manner. The company redecorated the NikeTown NYC store. The entire fifth floor (where the store is) was given a Sportswear treatment. The NikeTown 5th floor sports a new architectural look and houses an entirely renovated range of products. The first and perhaps the most impressive thing that meets your eye is the five story chandelier-inspired windrunner installation. It spreads across several floors and is built around one of the most important silhouettes of sportswear-the Windrunner. This installation will be taken down in a month’s time but till then it remains the most spectacular thing found in a sports store anywhere.

This unique installation also includes the symbolic Windrunner of US team model (also worn by the U.S. athletes during the Opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics and will be worn again at the closing ceremony as well!).While everybody cannot be in NYCity to visit the NikeTown NYC store, those from diverse parts of the globe can have a look at the renovated store (as a part of the marketing campaign) here at adcrunch:

Lovely Olympic Dreams Spot: Freddy Rhytmic Gymnastic

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

The biggest sporting event of the year, Beijing Olympics is just about to unleash itself and I am delighted to find this T.V. spot featuring Olympic Dreams of an Italian gymnast. The 55 seconds long video is full of amazing artwork. Done by agency 1861United (Milan) Rhytmic Gymnastic touches one and all with its inspiring narrative. The advertisement is one of the many designed for the ‘Olympic Games performed by Freddy’ ad campaign. It’s not just the sportswear that the spot advertises about. It’s also about Italy’s hopes and inspirations to win the coveted gold medallion at the mega sports. The tagline says it all! “Let my muscles be up to my dreams”. Here’s wishing good luck to the gymnast!

Tide rests at the foot of Columbia

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Doing artistic prints is a challenge which Dentsu, Beijing (China) likes to take upon itself. The agency’s print adverts for Columbia sportswear reflect its zeal to produce good work. These ads are titled: Desert & Ocean. Both are well executed. I have gone for trekking and hiking and other trips but never thought that my shoes actually face the most of my journey! The products strength and endurance get displayed in the two advertisements. With Columbia shoes nothing can spoil your adventure trip/ journey because “Tide rests at the foot of Columbia”! :D Wouldn’t you like to know the names of those behind these lovely prints? Well, the art director is Afflatus Dang and copywriter is Monkey Q.
