A few days ago, I told you about an advert featuring the emotional tale of a cactus man (that ad was for a bank) and today, it’s Paperman’s turn. The TV spot is about the tax returns which Australians are busy filing these days. Needless to say burdened by all the paper work they sure need some guidance. Here comes a symbol of an Australian’s tax return related worries in form of The Paperman. He is all confused and wanders on the street receiving apathy till he reaches the office of H&R Block.
His problems get solved when a lady attends to him and the advert ends in a mellowing hug. This ad was prepared by:
Creative director/art director: Josh Moore,
Art director: Tim Chenery,
Copywriter: Jessie Jordan and Nigel Clark,
Account manager: Vittoria Farro and
Agency producer: Liz Coleman at RazorJuniorw Sydney.

I love to begin my day with 2C s- Coffee and Chocolate. And I m sure, like me there are many other folks on this planet who love to get the morning and mid-day kicks with these two things. Atleast, the guys at Soma Films seems to love Chocolates more than Coffee that s why one finds their “Mars Your Day ad” to be so chocolaty.
The lively 30sec T.V. spot displays how people unleash the creative energy within after a quick bite of Mars bar. The use of a lot of funky symbols, graffiti stuff and likes alongwith the peppy Belgian music “Ca plane pour moi” (Plastic Bertrand s 1977 hit song) infuse a lot of youthful energy in the advert which I am sure will be well appreciated by one-n-all! The postproduction for this commercial was done at Animal Logic. Incase you are one of those who secretively crave for chocolate but get freaked by the calorie count just check the video here and feel elated and energetic. Good Day!

Emotional ads on life insurance; been there done that! Now is the time to tackle the serious issue of life insurance, investment and planning with a witty grin. This is what agency Happy Soldiers (Sydney, Australia) has done for Insurance Line s ad campaign. The latter has 3 T.V. spots - Caravan (Funeral plans), Car Park and Dinner table adverts. All of them have a narrative style ongoing dialogue with the viewer and then the funny thing happens – a green telephone strikes the head of the narrator (of ad) who is giving a lecture on, why he shouldn t go for life insurance because after all he wont be alive to see his funeral plans or other deeds. The ad urges you to “Make final resting plans over the phone” (tagline). All the 3 ads have this slightly witty take on this issue and in a comic manner they do make us realize the importance of proper planning in our lives. Good Work Happy Soldiers!

I bet all you music lovers have already seen and appreciated the HP: Maestro vid. Indeed the ad is inspiring. Those 60 seconds of Antonio Vivaldi’s energizing music in this T.V. spot and the amazing feat of imagination being displayed makes you believe things hitherto impossible can now be done with your own PC. All u need is to upgrade the one to the brand new TouchSmart PC by Hewlett-Packard for that bewildering computing experience felt never before! J You shall discover a Maestro within.
Anyway, the lovely advert comes from the workstation of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (San Francisco).
You can watch the video here (by the way the soundtrack is “The Four Seasons - Winter 1″).

The importance of toilet paper roll in your life is unquestionable. And if you still have doubts then watch SORBENT (Toilet Tissue): Homecoming advert. This funny T.V. spot tells you about the bizarre story of a boy lost at a young age in forests; being raised by wild dogs His homecoming is a breaking news story! The advert starts on a rather bland note when we see the boy and his parents struggling with their emotions. But the funny take comes in the end when in a rather sentimental manner, the wild boy remembers his childhood sitting on the shitpot feeling a roll of Sorbent tissue in his hands J aw…sob sob…really, with Sorbent you will never hafta rough it again!

Barbeques Galore’s latest attempt to woo barbeque fans in form of a 30 sec TV spot has turned out to be a rather bland appetizer. The advertisement is about a person being haunted by an angry pig. This spot which is created by Young & Rubicam, Inc. has used same tactics as employed by the horror movies. But it fails to impress much; perhaps the creators of the advert should watch more of those Alfred Hitchcock films to master the technique of haunting and mystery creation!
A guy opening the door of his refrigerator and sees a pig (staring back at him) through the corner of his eye. Next moment the pig disappears and then effortlessly crosses this guy’s living room without actually being getting noticed! And right after the final encounter with the angry pig which in turn leaps upon the guy, a message is slapped across the screen “Somebody thinks you ve been grilling too much. Not us.” Sheerly disappointing. The ad makers failed to understand this simple fact that leaves aside a fatty pig, any animal for that matter wouldn’t be happy at the prospect of being barbequed!! Would they themselves be happy to get served on somebody’s platter with Barbeque sauce?? The company could have done something better than this.
