Getting so close to reality on streets is the latest offering from animal activists that are adding new dimensions to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) ads for environmental issues. Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics- a company that produces organic cosmetic and beauty products have collaborated with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The latter was formally incorporated in 1981 in the state of Oregon (United States) and works for conserving shark populations across the world. Together these two produced an at-your-face; bold and hard-hitting campaign a few days ago. The creative execution of the campaign involved participation by Lush employee and performance artist Alice Newstead who got her skin pierced with shark hooks. She then chose to be suspended from the window’s ceiling inside the Lush’s Regent Street shop (London, UK).
This gory illustration was done to remind people how gruesome the fight for survival is for these marine creatures. In wild, no body can outrun a shark’s ferocity but man has a penchant for killing these magnificent fishes for things such as shark fin soup! Lush Cosmetics has created a Shark Fin Soap exclusively for this campaign. The soap made up of seaweed extracts and a cardboard shark fin, is being advertised along with this message to save the sharks. The company will churn out exactly the same number of soaps as are the number of victim sharks killed by humans. It has announced to forward the proceeds of sales from this soap to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The video shows the progress of the campaign.

Ok readers, I’m still laughing over it! The vacancy is for Males only. For being the VP sales of a well known company a) Drop Your Pants and Make Sure you are in a Thong! And b) keep the office’s refrigerator filled with ice-cold Rolling Rocks!
I do know many people out there (who have seen this video) can’t escape a mini laugh although, they are happy pretending that the 50 sec TV spot is preposterous! So much so, the advert is taken off from TV. (Since when did Americans start caring about issues like Nudity in Ads?) I can’t say about girls but guys must be rolling over…and heading for a Rolling Rock, perhaps!
Ok folks, here are the credits:

Urinals and toilets can be places where in sometimes you might require urgent care. So says, the print adverts of Aloma Urgent Care titled Toilets and Urinals. The graphics used to display the message are neat and effective and in case of the Urinals poster, they pack in a bit of humor as well. Besides, neat execution of the idea the agency Isix creative, Orlando (USA) has come up with ad slogans that deliver a mild witty punch. See for your self
Urinals ad: “Please use urinals responsibly…but just in case we treat fractures”.
Toilets ad: “Please use toilets responsibly…but just in case we treat strains.”

The Gorge Grown Farmers Market has already begun in Oregon from June 19th, 2008 onwards. It will stretch till Oct.2 in Hood River Middle School (Hood River, Oregon). This year to advertise about this market the farmer s network decided to go for something different than the usual pamphlet and print advertisements. So, popped-up this brilliant idea, to line the city block with six big orange carrots and cover the town with antenna skewers. Being a local farmer s market, expenses were a huge concern. Still the decision to take services of advertising agency-Owen Jones & Partners, Portland (OR, USA) proved to be a right one.
With under $1,800 of cost incurred at the farmer s network, the agency has delivered good quality work, which is catching attention by not only the locals but also a lot, many people over the Internet! The life-size carrots are sure a sight! We hope to see tomatoes, lemons and cabbages next year.
